Things to do in Ur
-
Grow, harvest and cook
Plant gardens, water and pet trees, milk butterflies and cook what you grow. Poison a tree and it dies; clear it, and plant a new one.
-
Mine, make and build
Swing a pick, run Woodworkers and Blockmakers, and help build 689 new streets through the original street projects.
-
Quests and secret rooms
Story quests from the Magic Rock, all 22 private quest rooms, pilgrimages and the secret rooms of Jethimadh Tower.
-
Fight off the Rook
When the Rook attacks, prime the shrines, stun it with a Focusing Orb and nurse the street back to life, alone or with everyone on the street.
-
Races and Paradise
Race rival Glitches or other players in Grab 'Em Good, wrangle piggies in the Great Hog Haul, and fly through Cloud Rings and Radial Heights.
-
A home of your own
Paper your rooms wall by wall with Tiny Speck's own 109 wallpapers, floors and ceilings, decorate, and raise a tower.
-
Explore Ur
Jump into the Great Hole to Ix, find the Enchanted Forest hollows, and help the Juju Bandits that come out of the Savanna.
-
Skills and imagination
Learn 99 skills and spend imagination on 247 of the original upgrade cards, from bigger batches to longer levitation.
Drawn from the original files
Every picture in Groddle Afternoon is Tiny Speck's own art. Glitch was drawn in vectors, so the trees, quoins, Glitches and street scenery are rendered again from their original Flash files: sharp on today's screens, and still exactly the shapes and colours they always were.

Restored, and reimagined
Seventeen pieces in Tiny Speck's wardrobe files were never finished: they survive only in greyscale and never had colours in the game. On the left, each file just as Tiny Speck left it. On the right, the same piece in colours taken from a matching item in the original wardrobe. The character builder tags every one of them as reimagined.
-

Original file
Reimagined Banana hat
Colours designed in the Glitch palette: nothing in the wardrobe was close enough to borrow from.
-

Original file
Reimagined Real bowler hat
Colours from the Bowler hat.
-

Original file
Reimagined Plain lace hat
Colours from the Women’s plain dress, lace and flower included.
-

Original file
Reimagined Cola bottle shirt
Colours designed in the Glitch palette.
-

Original file
Reimagined Mushroom shirt, light
Colours from the Mushroom shirt.
-

Original file
Reimagined Teapot
Colours designed in the Glitch palette: willow blue and a gold handle.

Follow the development
Every rule comes from Tiny Speck's own server code where it survives. Where it doesn't, the quest rooms and streets are rebuilt from players' recordings, the community wiki and archived pages, and each of those rebuilds says so in the restoration report.
- The game runs on Pixi 8.22.0
Solo, or together
Glitch was a world you shared, and now you can choose. Solo, Ur is yours alone: races, Game of Crowns, parties and street projects come with rival and helper Glitches, and your game saves in this browser. Make a free character with just an email and a password, and in multiplayer you share the street with other players: chat, form a party, race, trade and fight off the Rook together, and keep a buddy list. Global chat, groups and the auction house aren't back yet, and the restoration report lists each one plainly.
